You may remember that my personal history is one of being an artist and photographer. This year, in October 2012, I will be exhibiting my art work in Granada, Spain and from there the exhibition is expected to travel to other cities and countries.

The exhibitions will be multimedia ‘events’ and will provide me with a platform to glorify the Lord. My last exhibitions in Spain were some twenty years ago and were called ‘Journeys’. These new exhibitions will be called ‘Journeys 2’ and will follow, in the main, my spiritual and physical journey with the Lord over the past twenty years.

The Way Christian Ministries Expands into ALL of Pakistan

Under the apostolic oversight of Apostle Asher and his team, The Way Christian Ministries (TheWayCM) in Pakistan will be making Christian disciples throughout all of Pakistan commencing January 2012.

In 2010 the first ever Christian Bible College (Hunook Bible College) was established in the city of Multan by TheWayCM in Pakistan. The graduates from Hunook have been reaching out into Pakistan throughout 2011 and now 10 groups of 10-15 leaders in 10 major cities in Pakistan will begin receiving our Training for Life Leadership Training to equip them to oversee the growing work of TheWayCM in Pakistan. Many thousands of Christian Pakistanis will benefit from this.

Rev Peter Stanway’s ‘live’ teaching input in mainly done via an online hook-up through Skype. However, Apostle Asher’s laptop has been damaged beyond repair. He has raised half of the cost of a new one. Can you help him raise the other half? He needs 30,000 Pakistani Rupees.

Review for Who is McKenzie?

Several years ago, I made a conscious decision to wipe the invisible religious slate clean and start from scratch. As the daughter of a minister, I began questioning some of the doctrines associated with our church.  I had religious answers burned into my mind, but I didn’t want that kind of experience. I was searching for an experience that was authentic and came from within. I didn’t want to act and react due to head knowledge, but out of a driving passion from my heart. 

As a book reviewer and editor, I was privileged to have the best in written philosophies at my disposal. I became immersed and consumed with finding out who this mysterious Heavenly Father truly is. Interviewing a diverse group of individuals and hearing their personal stories for my radio broadcast has also helped to unwrap the great mystery. And, on occasion, my path would intersect with flesh and blood mirror images of who I longed to be-that individual who totally understood who God was apart from legislated rules. 

 

Late one Sunday afternoon in Atlanta, Georgia at the World Congress Center, Peter Stanway and I crossed paths. Nothing about his appearance or our initial conversation screamed that our meeting was destiny, but it would prove to be.  After getting to know Peter over the course of several days during The International Christian Retail Show, it was obvious that just by knowing him, any faith crisis that remained, would soon become nonexistent. He beamed with a passion that was bigger than any room he stepped into. He has a palpable compassion for people that are lost in a maze of questions that never seem to get resolved. Although a gifted minister, I believe him to be a 21^st century healer.

When Jesus performed miracles, opening deaf ears and blind eyes was only part of his ministry. There was always a deeper meaning of reconciliation with society and with God our Father at work. Peter’s ministry is much the same. He is driven to remove the errors in religious thinking and restore our relationship with God.

As you read of McKenzie’s adventures, don’t be surprised if some of his wonderings and emotional struggles look familiar. That is because McKenzie is each of us, wrapped in a different outer shell, but tormented by the same spiritual issues we all deal with. Without having to dress in your Sunday best, fight traffic, race for your favorite pew in your own synagogue, it is possible to hear the truth in a non-confrontational but personal way. It is conceivable to settle our own questions by voyeuristically shadowing McKenzie and learning as he learns. It is probable that you will wipe a tear or two from your cheek as the realization of the depth, yet simplicity of His love, finally comes to rest within you. There is no greater sermon or more profound message to be shared except that He is real and always obtainable. No religious doctrine necessary.

Several years ago, a military drama premiered on silver screens across the world in which one line has become notorious for making the movie. In the famous courtroom scene, a lawyer slams his fist on the table while yelling at the defendant, “I want the truth.”  In much the same way, I see believers around the world slamming their spiritual fist on a table demanding to know the truth. I know because I was one of them. I grew up in church but failed to know, really know, God. It is my prayer that as you read Who Is McKenzie?, your eyes will be opened, the truth revealed, and for the impact of that truth to reach forward into generations to come. Whether you need to wipe your slate clean as I did, or to hear the message for the first time, I believe Peter will profoundly affect the way you view God. Intimacy or Intensity

It is the Lord’s desire, and ours, that we have an intimate relationship with Him. He wants, and we want, to move progressively deeper into His love. We want to spend time ‘snuggling-up’ to the Jesus and to feel his passion for all mankind (including ourselves) as we listen to his heart beating with a rhythm that says, ‘I love you’.

Wee Boys from Glasgow Don’t Cry, but readers may when they read some of the heartbreaking stories author Peter Stanway shares in his book Wee Boys From Glasgow Don’t Cry. Whether reading about Stanway being rescued by his father from what could have been a fatal fire, to knowing he was choking back tears as a five year old listening to his Mom being abused in the adjoining room, it is impossible to remain detached from his written experiences.

It is amazing he survived his early childhood when accident after accident threatened to steal his young life. Later, at the age of twelve, he became physically active to avoid the shame his father placed on him for being “a sissy”.

His crime? Playing Rugby instead of football. “I was fit but lonely”, he wrote. He began experimenting with existentialism, transcendental meditation, philosophy, drugs and alcohol. In pursuit of fulfillment, fantasy crept in.

Thanks to a Christian Geography teacher, Stanway asked Jesus into his heart but as he put it, “I knew nothing about the Holy Spirit. I had a two-cylinder faith, Father and Son but no Holy Spirit”, which he explains, is the source of strength and power to follow Jesus. His conversion was brief.

As a young man, he lived the life of a free spirited, free-willed, adventure seeker that proved to be controlled by addictions. Stanway was living on the street, going town to town, knowing he needed something more and honestly seeking it, but unable to make a long lasting change.

Meeting Nancy, getting involved with WOTS (Way of the Spirit) and pure determination proved to be Stanway’s stepping stone into permanent conversion. Ironically, once he is able to re-channel his energy and make tracks in the right direction, his past haunts him through a life threatening illness. Stanway is honest and revealing as he takes his reader through the liver transplant that literally saved his life.

Stanway is passionate about everything he does. It is evident prior to his conversion, but when you see him using his passion to create change in others, it is downright inspiring. He is a true people person-compassionate on multiple levels and willing to do what it takes to rescue others. He gets it because he’s been there. He is an unstoppable force, chasing God and the good in mankind with all he has. And these days, that’s a lot!

Wee Boys From Glasgow Don’t Cry isn’t just an autobiography, it is an example of how to minister and do it effectively. He is energetic and knowledgeable-a combination that proves to be lethal when used against the powers of darkness. His story will challenge ministers, motivate lay men, and encourage the reader. New Age Deception by Peter Stanway
Peter Stanway demonstrates what the phrase "working for the Lord" means. The Way Christian Ministries is a pioneering ministry that "is intent on fulfilling the Great Commission by making disciples out of Christians." He accomplishes this through several training courses and methods. He is a successful author with yet another book, Who is McKenzie set to be released before Christmas 2011. As Director of European Development with Rev Publishing, he endeavors to add many European authors to the Rev Media portfolio. His television and radio ministries reach viewers and listeners worldwide. His schedule, I am sure, keeps him busy. Yet, there is always time for Stanway to stop and do the one thing he is notorious for; sharing his heart. The latest burden he carries is for the church and the deception that has infiltrated not only non-believers with New Age ideas, but of late, believers. It concerns Stanway that half-truths are embraced as accepted ideologies. Where as at one time this doctrine ran parallel to the church, it has intersected, causing division by deception. In his latest book, New Age Deception, Stanway blows the whistle on theologies and the ministers that teach them, and how they have compromised the truth for fear of losing their congregation. He does not expose individuals or even specific churches, yet makes a convincing argument that through the so-called liberating school of self-exploration, mind expansion, sex, drugs and rock and roll, people have found themselves in bondage to a counterfeit freedom.
Stanway is persuaded that believers can reverse the infiltration of the New Age movement with one word: discernment. "Discern in the spirit, do not judge in your mind." His final plea is to the believer, which captures the essence of his burden for the church. "Wake up Christians. This is the way, walk in it. Jesus is the truth, come to him and be free." It is a universal message that is relevant and essential.

McKenzie Finds Hope
McKenzie scanned the parched desert landscape expecting to see nothing but, hoping that he would see something or someone, some kind of life, anything. As his trained eyes journeyed slowly through the bleak, arid, inhospitable terrain, he stopped to look again at a speck in the distance. It hovered in the shimmering heat. It may have been his imagination, it may have been a mirage, but it was worth checking out.
McKenzie filled up his canteen with water from the drum in his pick-up and set off in the direction of that indistinguishable fragment of hope. As he got closer the speck grew larger and took on a distinct shape. When he finally reached it, McKenzie discovered with delight that he had stumbled upon a caravanserai; a roadside resting place where travellers could rest and recover from the day's journey. These caravanserai supported the, albeit sporadic, flow of commerce, information, and people across the network of trade routes throughout North Africa.
Although currently deserted, McKenzie knew that, eventually, some desert nomads or, perhaps, a travelling trader, would stop by for refreshment. All he had to do was wait…..

Job 11:18….You will be secure, because there is hope; you will look about you and take your rest in safety.
What are you hoping for? Do you look for it with confidence? If you do, you have faith. Faith comes when God speaks to us. Did God speak to you to believe in what you are hoping for? If not, your hope is no more than wishful thinking!
Can you see, through the eyes of faith, the materialisation of the thing you hope for? Are you sure it will happen as God has said?
Can you rest assured that God’s promises are ‘yes’ and ‘amen’? Do you believe that?
Believe and do not doubt, God will give you what you hope for.
Thank you Jesus, those who hope in you are never disappointed. Amen.

McKenzie Meets His Past
His mp4 player was out of juice, so McKenzie tuned into the noise that surrounded him. He zoned-into private conversations until he found something that interested him. He was back in Scotland, in Glasgow, in a massive shopping mall that had sprung-up from nowhere since his last visit. Malls are noisy places and they are fascinating.
Nameless people, thousands of them, milled around in all directions. Every one of them had a unique story to tell….McKenzie knew that all they wanted was someone to listen. He pondered this as he sipped his Starbucks latte, casually eavesdropping into whatever conversation caught his attention in the ambience.
“Hello son, is this seat taken?” McKenzie followed the voice to a smartly dressed old man with piercing blue eyes and a recently done neat haircut. He was holding a mug of tea standing in front of the empty seat at McKenzie’s table.
“No, it’s yours”, smiled McKenzie politely.
“Thank you. Busy place, isn’t it?”
“Yes”, responded McKenzie.
“My name’s Archie, what’s your name?” As he cordially stretched-out his hand towards McKenzie.
“McKenzie’s my name”, said McKenzie as he warmly shook Archie’s hand.
“McKenzie? That’s a great Scottish name, a name to be proud of. Where are you from McKenzie?”
“Originally from up north, the Outer Hebrides.”
“What part? I was stationed there during the war.”
“A wee island called Scalpay, just off Harris.”
“Scalpay!” Exclaimed Archie. “My first love came from Scalpay. You must know her, Moira McLeod?”
McKenzie was taken aback, almost everyone on Scalpay was from the McLeod clan.
“When was that?” Asked McKenzie respectfully.
“Och, I was just a boy, seventeen years old. Moira was only sixteen.”
McKenzie quickly did the math. This happened around seventy years ago, putting Archie in his eighties. He remembered that he had an aunty Moira, his dad’s sister. But surely, it couldn’t be her….?

Matthew 1:1-17…… Thus there were fourteen generations in all from Abraham to David, fourteen from David to the exile to Babylon, and fourteen from the exile to the Messiah.
It may seem boring to go through long lists of names that mean little or nothing to us, but those names are important. In this case they show us the lineage of Jesus Christ.
Currently, there is a growing curiosity in people wanting to know their family history, their ancestry. How interesting it is to discover where we have come from and perhaps unearth a few surprises in the process!
However, when we come to Jesus and we are born again, our family roots take on a completely new direction. We are adopted into the family of God. We become sons and co-heirs with Christ. We are new creations and our lives are hidden with Christ in God. Our blood-line starts at Calvary’s cross.
Oh yes, we still honour our natural parents and, in love, we reach out to our family and friends but we are no longer conformed to the pattern of this world. Rather, we are being transformed by the power of God.
Lord Jesus, thank you for being our Saviour and our Brother. Amen

The air at such altitude, in the foothills of the Himalayas, was incredibly thin and dry making it impossible to sweat despite the scorching heat. McKenzie’s blood pressure was far too high causing his face to flush like a beetroot. His pulse was beating so hard that he thought his head would explode and his heart would burst. The journey to Khoplang, a tiny village in the district of Gorkha, took two days walking. Much of the dirt road had been washed away by the frequent torrential rains making it heavy-going under foot for McKenzie and his Sherpa guide. Wading through the river in full spate was not an option, even although it would have cut hours off the journey. When the driver of an old truck offered them a lift, McKenzie and his guide jumped at the chance despite the exorbitant price they had to pay for the privilege.
McKenzie had an important meeting with, Chitra, the Chief Elder of the village. Chitra had some valuable information that may just expose the communist insurgent’s take-over of the former kingdom of Nepal. Their sweep had already started as they raped and pillaged their way towards Kathmandu. Was it possible to stop their wave of terror?....

Beautiful Feet

Isaiah 52:7……How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!”
Mountains can be inhospitable, hostile places where people are few and far between. Therefore, when a visitor comes with good news, it is a most welcome sight. The feet that carry the messenger are beautiful! When the Lord Jesus Christ came over the Mount of Olives, it was to proclaim good news in Jerusalem. The religious leaders were offended and nailed His beautiful feet to a cross on Calvary’s hill.
Death couldn’t hold Him and, after His resurrection, He ascended back to heaven from the Mount of Olives. When He returns it will be to the Mount of Olives that will split in two when His beautiful feet alight there.
As we climb the mountain of apathy and apostasy it is to bring good news to those who are perishing. We tread in the footsteps of missionaries and martyrs who have gone before us and we do it in the name of Christ Jesus who has made our feet beautiful.
Lord Jesus, help us to walk in your footsteps. Amen

McKenzie Gets the Point

By the time McKenzie heard the key unlock the cabin door, he had manoeuvred himself into a sitting position on the floor with his back against the wall. At least that way he would see what was coming.

To his surprise, it was Maria who entered unaccompanied. McKenzie looked her up and down. As usual, she was impeccably dressed with not even a hair out of place. Her dark eyes locked onto McKenzie’s upturned face. He could detect no obvious signs of emotion other than absolute self confidence. She glided over to McKenzie and asked herself out loud, “What are we going to do with you?”

McKenzie, still gagged and bound, looked into Maria’s face. She stooped, grabbed a corner of the duct tape that was over his mouth and gave it a good tug. McKenzie was now able to talk.
“Thank you”, he said with a hint of cynicism while contorting his mouth and jaw.
“You’re welcome”, Maria responded with obvious sarcasm. “I want to hear you when you scream”.

McKenzie was defenceless. His wrists were tied behind his back and his ankles bound together. Maria carefully positioned her expensively clad foot on McKenzie’s groin and began pushing her pencil-thin stiletto into his crotch.

Maria’s face broke into a crimson lip-gloss smile. “This will be such fun”, she chuckled with perverse pleasure…..

As Miguel and his fishermen winched their nets back towards the boat they knew that their catch was big. Their nets were heavy but as they broke the surface they all stared horrified. There among the silvery sardines was a dead body, or at least what was left after the sharks had finished….

Luke 5:4…..When he had finished speaking, Jesus said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.”

A Surprise Catch

Luke 5:4…..When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.”

After a hard night’s fruitless fishing, tired and weary, Simon and his crew returned home. Jesus, to make a space between Himself and the swelling crowd, climbed into Simon’s boat. When He had finished, Jesus asked Simon to go back out to deeper water to fish again.

The catch was so huge that their nets began to break. Even after sharing the fish with their partners, the weight of the fish caused their boats to begin to sink. Simon, recognising the power of Jesus, bowed before him in repentance. Jesus told him that from now on he would fish for people.

This graphic story clearly illustrates that obedience to Jesus, regardless of our feelings or our circumstances, will generate miracles for the glory of God.

Lord Jesus, thank you for abundance. Amen.
