Response to Comments on Anonymous Posting May 30th 2008

Hi again

Thanks for your responses. If I hadn’t felt troubled in my spirit I simply won’t have bothered to check things out. I am from a church that likes to believe we are at the cutting edge of what the Holy Spirit is doing and we run classes in the prophetic and the supernatural and current teaching materials from the former-Kansas city prophets are passed around. I love the prophetic and am drawn to all of this stuff. I interpret dreams and see angels, have had ‘people’ appear and disappear in front of me in human form. 15 years ago I had a visit to the third heaven during some incredible worship at a major event where I saw the great cloud of witnesses and ‘recognised’ many departed saints. One of these people, a pioneer missionary, told me we had come into new revelation which had not been revealed to him and to ‘go for it’. I cherished these things in my heart as some of the most exciting spiritual revelations I had had.

I was also in a Latter Rain church for a number of years in another town and, while there, was introduced to the teaching of William Branham and others. I was both puzzled and intrigued by his interest in UFO’s and other mystical things and the strange anointing which came from watching copies of his healing meetings which caused people to do weird things such as stand on their heads during bouts of hysterical laughter. Our pastor tried to avoid the more strange and controversial aspects of this teaching but we were perpetually waiting and prophesying about the New Day. Yes, unbelievably we had the occasional guest speaker who taught us that God was moving the church from the Age of Pisces into the Age of Aquarius as God had put these signs in the stars. In this New Age the fivefold ministry would be restored to the church. How we longed and prayed for it. Earlier this year the leaders of my present church went to a conference where they were told that we were now at a point in history were it would be possible, with enough faith and spiritual growth, to live forever!

My Latter Rain church was not really into the Toronto Blessing but I went to other churches whenever I could. I enjoyed more mystical and supernatural experiences at these events and dismissed criticism by assuming that either people did not understand the prophetic nature of God or that the devil or the flesh had occasionally got in there somewhere.

I am well aware that we are a fallen people with faults and weaknesses and we swim in a polluted river where the purity of the gospel is contaminated with all sorts of stuff. I understand that the church is made up of many traditions and teachings some of which contradict each other and that God uses weak and unusual people to fulfil his purposes.

Despite this sometime ago I began to be concerned that the Word was not being taught much anymore in my church, and that often the bible was not even opened. I became aware that many visiting teachers were saying very exciting things but they were talking about themselves. A couple of weeks ago I heard someone preach that the anointing within us touched people we met and encouraged us to look for divine appointments to ‘hug’ people. I also realised that somewhere along the line we had stopped speaking about Jesus but were talking about God, the anointing, glory clouds, angels, visions and the third heaven. I read a blog yesterday which said that Todd had taken references to EMMA off his web-site and the article asked ‘where did EMMA go?’ Well I am asking ‘where did Jesus and the gospel go?’

So, as I said, it was only because I was troubled about the EMMA Angel that I started to look into this - I didn’t even know why I was troubled after all I see angels and loved the prophetic in all its various forms. Indeed I like to consider myself a ‘people person’ and find unusual or different people very interesting so while my conclusions may appear to be biased I did not come into this research prejudiced again Todd per se. I wondered if John Glass just didn’t understand that people really did see angels or whatever. I agree my findings may not be entirely accurate, as there is so much differing opinion even on the same events and experiences; however over a 10 day period (which is woefully inadequate by any type of research standards) I read everything I could on these topics. I also spoke to people who have been avidly watching these things, both those who are upset and those who are ecstatic and spoke to and read reports from people who have been there. I looked at the history of the movement and the Elijah list people. I looked at the writings and teachings of the Latter Rain movement, of the Kansas City prophets both historically and currently and the writings of Todd Bentley. Basically I used university style research methods to look at the big picture in order to understand what is happening in the smaller one. I do realise that not everyone in the Latter Rain movement and similar churches will believe or endorse everything their leaders or founders say (or said in the past) but if you want to know what a denomination or movement believes you need to examine who they fundamentally are.

Todd does attribute his revelation and anointing to EMMA and other angels. He does claim that Jesus appears to him as a real person surrounded by incredible light and speaks to him. I don’t think anyone disagrees with this. He does encourage and teach people to enter into the third heaven (the place of the dead) to receive impartations and to engage in the supernatural. He does teach that he met the Apostle Paul and Sundar Singh and that he follows Singh’s teachings to reach heaven and that a special anointing from Singh will be released. I read this on the Elijah List website, under the title ‘prophetic words 2003’ I believe. He produces books and CD’s on the third heaven, mystical music and similar topics. Todd is not denying this, the question is, is this scriptural, is this wise and what spirits are we opening ourselves up to if we follow this teaching etc?

I looked into some teachings on dream interpretation from other members of the Elijah List being interested in this topic, and was very surprised to see it was lists and lists of meanings and interpretations. As a teenager I tried to interpret my dreams via this route having never met people who believed that God spoke in his way. Later God showed that me that this was spiritualism and that if I needed interpretation to seek the Holy Spirit. I had to repent of this sin.

I came across Akiane a few months ago and was entranced by her beautiful work. I was so interested in her I began to read about her and researched her, but as I read something started to bother me. In her interviews she said that some people believed she has a special gift from God while others believed she was a Crystal child. In one interview she is asked if she understands the gospel and she says she doesn’t know anything about it. I then asked the Holy Spirit to show me what kind of spirit (if any) was working through her. I then came across a transcript of an interview promoting her work where she said she went to ‘heaven’ with the help of her spirit guide. On YouTube there are videos of her talking about meeting God who she also describes as a being of incredible light. If you go onto her website there are links to her appearances on Patricia King’s and other Christian shows as well links to other non Christian things. I will try to find the link about her spirit guide again and post it up. Steve Shultz of the Elijah List has written a book about her and you can buy it from their website. I should point out that there are many people who believe she is a fraud as her works are copies of other work and she is unable to work when independent witnesses are in the room. Some people believe her father or other family members do it instead. Christian web sites say that she had a genuine encounter with the Lord Jesus and she led her whole family to Christ. New age type sites quote her differently and say she is a ‘Chrystal’ child. In fairness I have no idea if Todd has even heard of her although she has appeared on Patricia King’s TV programme and King is Todd’s mentor. I was trying to make the point that historically the Latter Rain prophets believed a new perfect seed would be born on the earth from 1973 as prophesied by Bob Jones and this is the same teaching as the New Agers. I was saying that (some of) these prophets, of whom Todd is part of, seem to be teaching that we need encounters with the supernatural in order to become the spiritual new breed (if we are not born this way) so that we can herald in a new day and possibly even live forever.

Even if this is not the case and the research I found is inaccurate or unbalanced Todd is still teaching people to visit the third heaven and get revelations from the dead! Although, like me, he may not recognise this is what is happening of course. Additionally, visitations of Jesus surrounded by light are a biblical description of Satan and one should be guarded against such things.

When I reflected on my research I realised that I had at times in my life swam in some very muddy waters. I realised that there is a big difference between differing interpretations of the Word and doctrines of Demons! I also realised that I had often never bothered to test the spirits nor search the scriptures. If it was exciting or had an ‘anointing’ or if there were miracles or healing then it had to be God, so I jumped right in. I realised I needed to wake up and yeah I needed to repent of some things and be cleansed! So yes. I suppose my blog entry is very biased.

Over the last 20 years we have been told never evaluate or look into what was being taught as this was ‘touching God’s anointed’. We were also told if we failed to ‘get right in there’, or to ‘jump right in’, then we were hindering the move of God. I don’t want to throw the baby out with the bath water but I for one will be testing the spirits and looking into the scripture before I taste anything else like this in the future. I will also be praying, pleading even, for spiritual discernment.

I hope my blog entry has stirred you up! Even if you think some of the facts I present are wrong, then check it out for yourself. I urge you to prayerfully look into everything and test the spirits.

God Bless.

I was very distressed in my spirit ………

Big thanks to Peter for posting the letter from John Glass Superintendent of Elim about their concerns regarding Todd Bentley due to his promotion of his healing and financial angel called EMMA. I was really troubled in my spirit when I read this even though I knew very little about this man having never heard him on the God channel nor seen him on the internet. After reading all the various reviews both positive and negative I decided to do some research into him and his beliefs. Especially as we are told to check things out like the Bereans did in Acts 17 and to ‘test the spirits’ to ensure they are from God. As 1 John 4 v 1 says:

Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. (NIV)

In order to do this I looked at who Todd is, his teachings and his associates, seeking to research this in an unbiased and non-critical way to determine what was the truth. I measured the information found against my understanding of what the Word of God teaches. I trust you will do the same. This information is very easy to find on the internet and I encourage you to check out anything I am saying if you have any doubts. Todd Bentley speaks openly about who he is and what he believes and it is up to the individual to decide whether he is a true or false prophet. Like most people looking into this is situation I did not want to miss out if God was doing something exciting but equally I did not want to partake in something that was not from God no matter how awesome it might seem.

From my research I discovered that Todd is part of an elite group of prophets called the Elijah List who include some of the former Kansas City prophets and controversial people like former-witch Patricia King. This group are following a teaching known as Latter Rain Theology or New Reformation Theology but it is also known as Dominion, Joel’s Army, Saul and David, Sons of God, the New Day or the New Age of Apostles and Prophets theologies amongst others things.

This teaching began with the late William Branham who had a ‘revival’ and healing ministry in the 1940’s and spoke and healed people through his ‘angel’. Branham also believed in UFO’s, astrology and ancient Egyptian mythology and is buried under a pyramid! He established the Order of the Latter Rain which was developed and enhanced through a group led by Mike Bickle called the Kansas City prophets who taught that through visits to the third heaven, which came from guided meditation and ‘soaking’ it was possible to achieve special impartations of revelation and anointing. During these supernatural heavenly visits one would communicate with ‘Jesus’ who appears as a being surrounded by beautiful light, male and female angels and departed Old and New Testament (dead) saints and the spirits of various dead people. Todd endorsees and practices such things and has written and preached on them for many years. He writes of speaking to the Apostle Paul in his ‘heavenly hut’ and receiving new revelations concerning the writing of scriptures and a special ‘evangelical’ anointing from an dead Indian mystic called Sundar Singh who taught that eventually everyone would attain salvation. After a year’s sabbatical seeking God, Todd claims that God told him to cover himself with tattoos which include the all seeing eye (also known as the eye of providence which is associated with Buddhism, the Free Masons, spirits of financial prosperity and Egyptology) and also with the pentagram- a satanic hex symbol!

Other prophets from this group have similar visions and visitations and all of them talk of being translated, transfigured, imparting glory clouds, special revival anointing and having all manner of marvellous experiences many of which seem to contradict the scriptures. (There are no female angels for example.) These descriptions of Jesus as a being of light who appears to them as real as a human being are the same description as Lord Krishna who appeared to A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada who promoted the Hara Krishna cult. Angels of light have often appeared as false Jesus’ to individuals over the centuries who have started various religious movements. The bible warns us this will happen saying that Lucifer or Satan is an angel of light! (2 Cor 11 v 14) Additionally the Bible expressly forbids contacting the dead and this practice is known as and part of witchcraft, divination, mysticism and spiritualism. All of these practices bring curses, oppression and eventually damnation upon a person who practices them if they don’t repent. Perhaps not surprisingly some of the most famous former Kansas City prophets who birthed this movement have been exposed as partaking in very serious sins in the last few years.

All of these prophets have regular visitations from ‘angelic beings’, some many times every night! Todd Bentley’s angel EMMA was introduced to him by former Kansas City Prophet Bob Jones and Todd claims this was the angel that ‘opened this prophetic well’ from which they all drink and was the angel to William Branham and Scots Reformation Preacher John Knox. This angel brings him prosperity, as well as sprinkling gold dust and jewels around. Emma also gives him prophetic words and brings healing. Todd is very open about Emma and the other angels he sees. He speaks of them in most meetings and on the 19th May 2008 he invited people to come to the altar to receive from the healing angel and to let her enter into them! On Wednesday 21st of May 2008 he also released the special evangelical anointing from Sundar Singh on the ‘revival crowd’ in Lakeland Florida after teaching on how to visit the third heaven through mediations he learned from Singh’s teachings. Once again the bible expressly forbids contact with the dead! (Isaiah 8 v 19). Do we want or need healing or anointing from strange spirits and dead mystics?

Christians do believe in angels who are described as ministering spirits sent to those who will inherit salvation. Angels sometimes bring messages or protection however there is no biblical precedent for having an on-going relationship or partnership with a particular (female) angel. Very worryingly ‘EMMA-O’ or ‘EMMA HOO’ is another name for Satan! We are to seek Jesus for all our needs, hopes and desires and to look to him to bring us help and finance. God may send an angel to do this but we do not seek or command angels. Angel worship is a big part of New Age and other non Christian teaching and the bible warns us against this too. Colossians 2:18 says;

Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship of angels disqualify you for the prize. Such a person goes into great detail about what he has seen, and his unspiritual mind puffs him up with idle notions. (NIV)

These Prophets including Todd also greatly promote dream interpretation, seeing this as the human minds way of interacting with the spiritual or supernatural world. These dreams are not interpreted by seeking revelation from the Holy Spirit as instructed in scripture but through interpreting and understanding the signs and symbols of dream psychology. They produce extensive lists of meanings, the same as those found in spiritualism, mysticism and ‘white’ witchcraft teachings. In order to interpret dreams one needs to undergo specialist training which they sell through numerous books, DVD’s and courses. The bible does speak of dreams and visions and many people have dreams from time to time which they believe are from God. The believer can seek understanding from the Holy Spirit whose role is to guide us into all truth and who always points us to Jesus. As John 15 v 26 says: “When the Counselor comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father, he will testify about me” and John 16:13 which states: “But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.”

Alternately genuinely prophetic people of the Lord can interpret dreams by seeking God on someone’s behalf. They do not need special training and courses to do this just the ability to hear from God.

Latter Rain people believe that a new day is coming which will end the old ‘church order’ and herald in a new age. In this new day people will be able to operate in the supernatural and achieve ‘Christ Consciousness’ collectively and will have the ability to live forever. They will subdue Christ’s enemies and rule the earth for 1000 years. Some openly teach that it is the Age of Aquarius or the New Age which we would normally associate with ‘New Age hippies’. According to some sources in order to ensure the old age of ‘the church’ comes to an end a death spirit will be sent out from heaven to kill off all those who seek to stop or hinder this new day coming into being!

Some years ago Prophet Bob Jones claimed that in a visit to heaven that he saw millions of yellow seeds which were the pure new race to come. According to Bob these seeds have pure blood lines from Old and New Testament saints (i.e. the disciples) and there will be a new breed of children born on the earth. He prophesied that from 1973 these children would be born to Latter Rain and other believing people who have been specially chosen to birth these children. These children would be born with supernatural and psychic powers and the ability to visit the third heaven from birth. As they are from pure blood lines they do not need to be ‘saved’ or ‘born again’ like everyone else. They do not need Jesus- they are Jesus! This is a type of new gospel the bible warns us would be taught by false teachers and prophets- see 2 Cor 11 for example.

The New Agers also believe in a new breed of children coming to help the earth evolve into a new spiritual age. They call these children Indigo and Crystal children because of their supposed ‘Indigo auras’. Both these prophets and the new agers claim that ‘Akiane’ a beautiful angelic-looking, extraordinary gifted child artist, who paints her visions of heaven and Jesus is one of ‘there’s’. Akiane has appeared on Patricia Kings and other similar ‘Christian’ TV shows and Steve Shultz the founder of the Elijah List group has written a book about an interview he did with her. These prophets claim her gift is from God and she is an example of these new breed of mystical children. Equally the New Age people featured her in a documentary about Indigo and Crystal children as a ‘pure crystal’ child. Akiane herself says her visions of heaven come from her ‘spirit guide’ (familiar spirit) and this poor child whose paintings are sold for $1m each has no concept of salvation and redemption as we understand it from the Word of God. Clearly these prophets do not have any true biblical discernment.

The Kansas City Prophets’ followers set up ‘Dominion school’ for their own special new breed children where they were encouraged to laugh, cry and play in the ‘anointing’, have visits to heaven and commune with angels and the dead, rather than do school work. Bob Jones told the parents that is was normal to have total memory loss for several hours or even days after their deep mediations and visits to heaven and not to worry if their children did not recognise them at times! This is not Christianity this is spiritualism! Sadly many of these children were referred to psychologists for counselling due to their behavioural problems after being in this school.

The Latter Rain Prophets and New Agers believe that with sufficient spiritual and supernatural growth it is possible for ordinary mortals to evolve into a new state whereby we can also live supernaturally and forever and bring the world into a time of peace. The Latter Rain Prophets call this new enlightened spiritual state ‘Christ Consciousness’ because together, collectively, they become Christ on earth. The new agers call it ‘Divine’ or ‘Universal Consciousness’, although undoubtedly it is the same thing!

These Latter Rain Prophets believe that the new age will begin with the return of the biblical Elijah to lead them into the new day. Another Former Kansas City Prophet Paul Cain prophesied that this new age would begin in a Lakeland Florida Revival and despite being under church discipline for his immoral lifestyle was invited to Lakeland to verify this was the fulfilment of his prophecy. As many expected Paul Cain stated that Todd was indeed the new Elijah or end time witness sent from God and the New Reformation or Latter Rain had begun. (This was also prophesied over William Branham while he was alive!)

While there are many different interpretations and understanding of how the end times might unfold from the Word there are no teachings which could be interpreted as the evolving of the human race into something better (quite the opposite!) and ‘perfect seed’ children coming to do this. Nor is there any teaching that the world will emerge into a new spiritual enlightened age. Rather the bible states that the world will grow exceedingly wicked and many will fall away from the true faith and follow false teachers and prophets. The bible teaches that Jesus will come back in person (not as a collective consciousness) to redeem his bride who is the true church.

One of the reasons why so many people are flocking to hear Todd Bentley is because of all the Christian media hype about the healing and miracles he is claiming to perform. Many people are saying “how can he do these things if it is not of God?” Yet in Matthew chapter 7 Jesus himself says:

Verse 15 "Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16 By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them. 21"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' 23 Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'

The Bible makes it horrifyingly clear that there will be those who have done miracles and healing and prophesied in Jesus name who are not from him but are workers of iniquity! Do not be deceived! It is not just Christians who claim to have the gift of healing or can do miracles, many other religious, new age and occultist groups do to. The devil appears not only as a roaring lion but also as a beautiful angel of light! The bible says in the last days there will be a great falling away from the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ and people will turn to fables and follow false leaders. The bible also says that even the elect (God’s people) can be deceived so be very, very wary.

Matthew 24:23-25 says ……

23 At that time if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or, 'There he is!' do not believe it. 24 For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect—if that were possible. 25 See, I have told you ahead of time. (NIV)

Please don’t just take my word on this or reject this out of hand. All this information is easy to find on the internet as I said. To summarise Todd is teaching that we should attain spirituality by interacting with the supernatural realm. He does not emphasise Jesus or preach from the bible rather he offers anointing, teaching and resources which enable and encourage us to enter into the third heaven and communicate with and receive from angels or spirits and the dead. From these amazing experiences we will enter into a new age of spirituality whereby we might be able to live forever. I am not attacking Todd or these other prophets just explaining what they are saying and why I don’t feel it matches up with Scripture-which leads me to conclude they are the false prophets Jesus warns us about. Todd Bentley’s special anointing might seem exciting and powerful but by his own admission does not come from the Holy Spirit rather from angels and the dead.

If you are thirsty come to Jesus who is offering pure clean water from which you will never thirst again. Get into the bible and read it diligently asking the Holy Spirit to guide you and bring you fresh revelation and truth. Pray for discernment and don’t jump into things without being totally sure you know it is of God. Above all don’t be afraid of these things as apart from the fact that the devil is a liar, Jesus has promised to be with us until the end of the age! (Matt 28 v 19 & 20)

Amen. Even so come quickly Lord Jesus.

Duncan Campbell on Revival

Duncan Campbell's own testimony recounts how the revival stemmed from the prayers of two elderly sisters. The revival fire started in the Island of Lewis with meetings continuing well into the night or early morning. Sinners found themselves unable to escape the tremendous presence of God and under conviction changed their ways.

no man, organisation, or denomination has the monopoly of the Holy Spirit

I find it difficult when men define 'Revival' as the "wind blows where it wills" no man, organisation, or denomination has the monopoly of the Holy Spirit or how HE operates today.
I once read a book called "The trivialisation of God" and the sub-title was "The dangerous illusion of a manageable Deity"

I believe Todd Bentley is sincere

Thank you for your E Mail and for your balance. It can be dangerous to "touch the Lord's anointed" as Jesus said "he that is not against me is for me" Mk 9 v40
I believe Todd Bentley is sincere and loves and honours the Lord but I guess the flesh and excess plus the Devil will be in the mix especially in the audience.
I cannot accept what Rob Hoskins said. I consider his Scriptures to be out of context and lacking Grace.

I have no problem with what I have seen.....

I've no problem with what I've seen of God TV or the charges the Charisma article contains. It's not my style of Christianity but that is probably as much my problem as Todd Bentley's!
Simone has been watching much more than I have and some of it has bothered her। I respect her spiritual sensitivity but even if some of it is off track I don't think this means that everything is demonic.

Florida Revival?

Thanks for this Peter. Those of us who have been around KF for any length of time will immediately identify with a reluctance to call this revival. I suspect it is not (at the moment anyway)! It does seem to be a 'time of refreshing' though, which we all need to understand will also attract the flesh, and of course be attractive to the flesh. Without the element of repentance and holiness what is offered is 'experience without cost'. Hopefully there will be leaders with discernment, who have learned from Toronto, and who will be willing to forsake their seeking after experience this time in order to channel any anointing/glory to the world, to those who don't know him but need to. So I'm not sure i'd go as far as Rob Hoskins below, but I share some of his concern.

Richard

Hi David,

Thank you for copying me into this email string. For my part, I am trying to keep an open mind in all of this – not wanting to ‘throw out the baby with the bath water’.

Since the good Lord has condescended to work with fallible human beings, there will always be an element of our humanity and anything God does through us.

Watching and praying……

Every blessing,

Peter

FLORIDA REVIVAL?

I see no fruit of real revival- repentance, humility or an ingathering of the lost. Signs and wonders can be a result of revival, but not the reason for revival. The emphasis on dramatic demonstration, personal prophesies, personalities and angelic encounters as opposed to the study of the Word, repentance and individual and community transformation leaves me little doubt that this has more to do with emotional hysteria then true revival. This is distracting the church from its Great Commission and is a sign of the narcissistic nature of the American church.

Matthew
12:39 "He answered, "A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a miraculous sign!"

Matthew 24:4 "Jesus answered: "Watch out that no one deceives you. 5For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am the Christ [anointed one]' and will deceive many."

Matthew 24:10 "At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people."

Matthew 24:23 "At that time if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or, 'There he is!' do not believe it. 24For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect—if that were possible. 25See, I have told you ahead of time. "

Colossians
2:18 "Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship of angels disqualify you for the prize. Such a person goes into great detail about what he has seen, and his unspiritual mind puffs him up with idle notions."

2 Cor
11:13 "For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, masquerading as apostles of Christ. 14And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. 15It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve."

Hi Rob,

Hope that you are all doing well.......please see email from John Glass (General Superintendent of the Elim)..........if you could let us know your thoughts that would be great....!

Every Blessing,

David.

FLORIDA REVIVAL?

Dear Friends

We are receiving a number of calls to the Office here from Pastors to ascertain what our position is on the meetings that Todd Bentley is having in
Florida.

My view is that our leaders are sufficiently mature to reach their own conclusions on matters of this nature without the issuing of a 'party line' from
Cheltenham.

However it would be remiss of me not to draw attention to the disquiet that is arising in the minds of many leaders around the world with regard to the documented comments that Todd is making about his interaction with personal angels and particularly one called Emma who 'floats a few feet off the ground and provides him with lots of money' and his assertion that he visited the Apostle Paul in a cabin in Heaven who told him that he had solicited the assistance of Abraham in the writing of the book of Hebrews.

Charisma magazine offers the following link on this

http://www.charismamag.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=2400

On a more positive note, a remarkable series of meetings continues much nearer to home at
Kensington Temple where William Lee, who had been booked for a short series of meetings has now cancelled his diary until the end of the year. Meetings attracting hundreds of people are being held every night of the week except Monday and 700 decisions for Christ have been recorded with some of the most remarkable healings and creative miracles that we have heard about are taking place.

Yours in Him

John Glass
